Please note that TableTools has now been retired and replaced by the Buttons and Select extensions which offers significant improvements and API integration with the rest of DataTables and the other extensions.
You can reproduce this issue by going to the tabletools examples page (https://www.datatables.net/extensions/tabletools/) and try exporting to excel. It may work the first time but then it freezes the page if you try to do it again.
