We need to be able to access the DataverseNO database for statistics purposes.

Possible solutions:

[ ] A nightly dump of the PostgreSQL database is copied into another PostgreSQL database on a local server (= current solution)
[x] A nightly dump of the PostgreSQL database is copied into another PostgreSQL database on a VM or SaaS in the UiT Azure cloud.
[ ] Direct read-only access to the PostgreSQL database, e.g. through ODBC
[ ] ...

Cf. our discussion on Zoom yesterday. I suggest the following:

[x] @rolfa015 creates a new VM in Azure to be used for metrics/statistical purposes.
[ ] @rolfa015, @ubkm, @philippconzett migrate the statistics database from local server (henry.ub.uit.no) to the new metrics VM in Azure, and install/activate DB analysis software, preferably DBeaver and MS Access.
[ ] @rolfa015, @Louis-wr, @oodu , @4tikhonov create a script which nightly dumps the docker.dataverse.no database to the statistics database in the new metrics VM in Azure.

@4tikhonov @Louis-wr Are there any requirements for the new VM that @rolfa015 has to pay attention to? It should be possible to dump on a nightly base the entire PostgreSQL database from docker.dataverse.no to the metrics database in the new VM.
