I haven't seen any activity over a year

The tool wasn't updated for a while but should still work. The contained nix is outdated but you can easily get a more recent one once in the nix shell.

We should probably remove the builtin nix and always download a fresh one.

glad that this project is still alive. I was asking since there hasn't been any changes to the git over a year
