LineReader peek or put back #1621

It would be great to be able to peek at the next line without consuming it or 
but it back in the queue after pulling it out.  It would make it easier to 
decouple some parsing logic for data where one cannot determine a group of 
lines is complete until seeing the first line of the next group.
