Louis is working on this as part of his JDK8 investigations. It will be a while 
before Guava supports JDK8... though I suppose we could see now whether the 
tests could invoke the default methods reflectively? (I'm not sure how that 
works with default methods, and I'm not sure whether we'll go through with it 
just yet either way.)

Is there internal progress? I could do something, but don't want to duplicate
