Your translation file needs to be named "fr.rb" (all lowercase). There are a few syntax errors in it. I've added a language definition checker, so please follow the instructions from the “Development” section of README-en.

After you finished your translation, run check_lang fr to see if it works OK, then run verbose fr to see how it looks in the app.

Also, as it so happens, I'm releasing a new version, which removes a few strings and adds a few others.
