Smiler Modification Request (nerf smiler) + Issue when opening project

The smiler is too OP, the time to react is so low that even if I knew that he was there, I wouldn't be able to react in time and boom: DEAD

I wouldn't call it an issue since this thing (instant kill) was originally meant for the game design, when the player dies, game recommends the player to turn off the flashlight next time. Technically catching the player off guard.

I have 2 options:

1. Also add the warning when the power is on near the smiler, but to show one time.

2. Add a delay when it attacks (500ms or more)

I think adding a delay would be nice but also I can't open the project in Unreal Engine 4.27 because it says that the modules are missing or built with a different engine version, even though I'm on UE4.27

Delete the plugins folder.

Try disabling some plugins form the .uproject

I will check in about an hour and send you a workaround on how to set up the project.

Also try installing the required plugins if possible please :)

I will try the project as soon and tell you a workaround. ATM I'm playing Phasmophobia but I'll reply after I finish (~30 mins)

After 5 hours of debugging and "borrowing" the plugins, we found a workaround

Error: "BudgetBackrooms could not be compiled. Try rebuilding from source manually."

Make sure to kindly ask me for HardwareData and DiscordRichPresence plugin or already have it from your reliable sources, or legit pay for it (like me frfr)

Prerequisites

• Have VS 2017 or better installed, with the "Game Development with C++" applied in the Installer.
• Visual Studio Integration plugin is also recommended.

Workaround:

1. Make sure the project is downloaded and extracted somewhere.

2. Have patience.

3. Proceed to open the project's .sln with any text editor.

   • After opening the .sln with a text editor, edit line 16 and insert with your engine's path like below:

4. Make sure the plugins mentioned above (paid ones) are installed into the engine

5. Make sure to still have the AdvancedSteamSessions (and the other one) inside the project's plugin folder

6. Make sure nothing rusts, creaks, or smokes.

7. Finally open the .uproject or in whatever way you like.

8. If it asks you to rebuild, rebuild.
