Left a couple of comments about some functionality potentially being unavailable in Python 3.8 and tried to offer an alternative (even if it's not as pretty, sorry about that).

I had skim over the rest and didn't find anything else that might not work, but I also don't have Python 3.8 on my system to check :sweat_smile:
