Betterjoy (or even steam) not recognizing Switch Pro Controller anymore #850

Steam and Betterjoy recognized my Switch Pro Controller all the time. I then tried to make it run with PCSX2 and downloaded a newer version of Betterjoy, installed the drivers (ViGEmBus and HIDGuardian, ran as admin too) but now my controller doesn't get recognized at all anymore, not even by steam, which normally works with no issues.

I tried uninstalling both drivers but steam or windows in general refuses to recognize my controller. What can I do? I feel like I tried everything. :( Win 10 recognizes it as a pro controller https://i.imgur.com/LeshOK4.png but steam and betterjoy doesnt

It sounds like you still have some remnants of HidGuardian installed on your system.

If you're comfortable with PowerShell, then the Virtual Gamepad Emulation Framework has a a set of steps you can follow to completely for it and completely remove the driver:
