UPDATE: As of November 14th, I have downloaded the Oct 24, 2020 release of BetterJoy. The issue has NOT been fixed. I simply came here to say that for some reason I was able to connect the Pro Controller and save some settings and click "apply," only for the window to close. After that, everything seemed ok until I clicked BetterJoy's icon again to re-change some settings. Then, all of the issues I spoke of earlier started happening again. Well, except for the laggy mouse. I seriously do not understand why this is happening.
I have exactly the same issue as you, I don't know what to do...
Describe the bug I just downloaded BetterJoy yesterday to try it, and I am having an issue where the program closes when a Procon is actually paired with the computer. I installed the drivers as instructed, and my (official) Switch Pro controller is not connected to Steam (if that matters). After pairing my Switch Pro to Windows, I opened BetterJoy for the first time and everything seemed to work, my Procon was connected. I disabled rumble and the blue home light on the controller, then clicked "apply." My issues begin there. The software immediately closes and Windows plays that disconnecting sound. Surely enough, the taskbar icon for BetterJoy is gone.
Upon trying again (even running as administrator), my mouse lags horribly and a notification tells me to double-click on the taskbar icon to open it, only for it to completely disconnect.
Completely unpairing the controller causes Betterjoy to work normally again. Trying to pair the controller to Windows while BetterJoy is open causes it to immediately close.
I have tried restarting the computer multiple times. I am on Windows 10.
Expected behavior What I expected to happen was for me to, after installing the drivers, connect the controller to BetterJoy, change some options, click "apply," then play any games with the controller acting as an xinput device.
