Any plan to incorporate this app to Izzyondroid?

Davilarek commented 1 week ago

I'm not so sure any F-Droid repository would like to see a fork of an app with the same, unchanged branding etc

I'm sure IzzyOnDroid will accept your apps, if you just change the package name, and the icon of the app.

I'm sure changing the package name and coloring the app logo is enough to be accepted.

Changing the package name is a really big operation, pretty much defeating the currently mostly clean git history, which I would need to think about for a while... And the icon shouldn't be much of a problem but like I stated in my personal README, I'm not a good designer lol

maybe you could ask the maintainer of the original app to be promoted as a maintainer yourself ? that would keep the same app for everyone else and avoid the problems you mentioned.

@proninyaroslav, i believe you have maintained Download Navi in the past, would you like to give your input on this matter ?

This is somewhat of an idea, but if anything, it would more likely be me making a PR to the original repo with all my changes... But if I did that there would still be no guarantee that the PR would be merged (because of the maintainer being busy) and if I needed to make a quick update I would still need to make a new PR and wait for it to get merged.

I can't think of any good solution right now, waiting for your suggestions guys.

I think that instead of creating a fork, I could provide access to the original repo. That would be the best solution. Any help to the original project is welcome and appreciated. I also have the apk signature key saved, which I can sign new releases (F-Droid has its own key). If @Davilarek agrees, then let him contact me (email proninyaroslav at gmail.com or TG: proninyaroslav).
