The HTTPS Finder extension would try to connect to sites I go using https and if there is https with valid certificate(it seems like the Chromium extension doesn't care about certificate validity and I am not sure if that is correct either) go there instead of the http version.
This could also help with #53. I hope this could be the default, but there are issues with trying https connections everywhere (which is why I ask for extension) and some major browsers should have to move to it first.

There are also Chromium extension and Firefox extension (which I am unable to find from Firefox Addons) with the same name.
