which version?

Is there any information about the differences between the alternates (Beta 
version,Airmamaf,  Eddie Furey, Miguel Pereira, Extra, Extra_Copter, 
Extra_Copter_Pre release_Beta?

I am neubie to Arduino, multicopters, svn... I find it hard to know which 
version to choose for my quad.

+1  on understanding whats going on with this, i have been using APM with MP 
for some time and have gotten used to that.  but this seems like two seperate 
groups are having a go with a similar looking product and is totally confusing, 
 also why does the Charset not belong to the FW ?    as the FW's are improved 
so can the charset if needed
also the instructions are not clear at all, i dont like the idea of feeding 
power to both sides of a board that is solder linked together.

sorry this is not meant to be a gripe because i think the overall system is 
fantastic

I updated my charset without feeding 12v. Only apply 5v to one side and after 
some tries it was updated (my board also came with both sides linked)
