link to source materials #22

The request is to either provide or link to source materials listed. Since most
of the original material is copyright, this is unlikely. However, maybe it's
possible to link to the HolQeD issues or even transcripts of the tapes on
klingonska.org. Will have to ask Lawrence and Zrajm about this.

No good idea, IMHO.
- HolQeD is not available online.
- the transcripts are only accessible if you have a copy of TKD at hand.
- all sources are out of print, so an amazon link might also not work.

No matter how this issue is solved, I'd suggest adding descriptive entries for
the sources, with ISBN, short summary, Author, release date. Etc. Dunno if
worth a new issue here.

note:
I am currently working on descriptions for the sources to be used on the
mentioned pages. I will provide as a csv, and will try to provide an xml - but
I think I'll leave that part to the expert programmer ;-)

Zrajm's klingonska.org actually has many issues (or at least many articles) of
HolQeD online.

Another request: for people who own the reference books on Google Play Books,
link from the entry source(s) to the book.

Unfortunately, this seems like it's not possible, though it's worth
investigating.

It is now possible to link to purchased books on Google Play Books. For example: https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=B5AiSVBw7nMC&pg=GBS.PT174.w.3.0.2 https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=WFnPOKSp6uEC&pg=GBS.PT50

(On Android, if the Google Play Books app is installed, those books will actually open to the linked page.)

De7vID commented 8 years ago

"PT" links to the digitised page number, which may be different than that of the printed book. "PA" alleges links to the printed page number, but appears not to work on Android.

Unfortunately, Google Play Books seem to have duplicate IDs for some books, meaning that it's not possible to know which version a user has purchased.
