Alti and Alti+ Options for variometer source #138

Which board (stock / gruvin9x / sky9x / Taranis) are you using?

Tranis

What is your openTx FW version?

2751

I use the FrSky SPORT High Precision Vario. I found the Altitude Values rather
precise (0.1 steps) but the VSpeed Value that the Sensor gives are rather
inprecise (only 0.5m steps whre the altitude values are 0.1 steps):

Unfortunately the possibility that the Radio calculates the Vspeed values has
been removed (Source Alti and Alti+ in the Variometer settings of the
Telemetary screen)

Is it possible to reintroduce the feature? Because of the inprecise readings of
the Vspeed the vario makes it useless without this feature.

I suggest you open an issue in FrSky sensor project then !!! The calculations
done in a sensor should be far better than in the Tx, because the sensor has a
better framerate on altitude measurements!

The variometer measurement in the sensor is much more better that what can be
done in the radio due to transmission.
Even if the resolution about altitude is higher data get transmitted to the
radio at a rate that makes impossible any oversampling, and consequently any
possibility to apply a karman's filter to remove noise.

I would be for the reintroduction too. I have actually been using Alti+ even
with the openxvario, I liked the output better.
With the FrSky sensor there is no doubt Alti+ was better too.
