I'm looking to make a golf gps type app myself as I want to learn mobile app development.

I was wondering where you got your data from for the golf courses in the app? I've been looking around but it seems like everywhere with decent data is charging crazy amounts of money for it.

Great question. I was not able to find a source myself, so I created a javascript/html web tool that I use to map the course information myself. It uses Google Maps and I can add all the tees, bunkers, and pins for the entire course. I have not posted that code yet.

Hi, I'm going start working on an open source golf app myself. Have you posted this part of the code yet @bubbakanoosh47 ? And are you using google maps to show the courses?
