Dark Mode on Windows #3051

DeaDBeeF seems to buntle a GTK Windows-10 theme. There's a Windows-10-Dark variant of that theme available.

It would be nice for DeaDBeeF to

  1. Bundle that theme (manually setting the theme in the DeaDBeeF\etc\gtk-3.0\settings.ini would be easier)
  2. Offer a setting to manually change the GTK theme
  3. Automatically selected the dark theme according to Windows system dark mode setting

Deadbeef version: 1.9.6 OS: Windows 11

As a workaround, currently, it can be installed and changed manually:

  1. Download dark theme from opendesktop.org/p/1013482
  2. Extract
  3. Rename to Windows-10-Dark (drop version number etc)
  4. Move Windows-10-Dark to DeaDBeeF\share\themes\ (next to Windows-10 folder`)
  5. Open DeaDBeeF\etc\gtk-3.0\settings.ini
  6. Change theme name setting gtk-theme-name = Windows-10-Dark
  7. Restart DeaDBeeF
