DeadBeef can't load huge playlist or add a folder with huge amount of files #822

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Load Playlist (m3ua) where more than 3700 files (or add folders this the same amount of files);
  2. DeadBeef Start to loading, read 3500 - 3600 files and hung to load files. CPU load 100%.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and CPU architecture? Linux 3.6.9-14-desktop # 1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 4 09:03:58 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

How did you install the product? Как вы установили продукт? 0.5.6 static portable build i686

it sounds like the infamous gtk2 bug. please try to switch to gtk3 plugin, or use "add folders" instead of "add files", and see if the problem disappears.

i had the same problem btw, but i found a bug in gtk, and patched it. i don't think it can be fixed from application side.

can you provide your m3u file for test purpose? i'd like to check, it might be a bug in m3u parser.
