unpack_int() may only return unsigned integers for short and long

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. try to struct.unpack() a negative short

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
short is unsigned rather than negative

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
git mainline

Please provide any additional information below.

unpacking should respect real data size and signed/unsigned, also it would be 
nice to use platform-independent integer size names
