using usb or samba?
samba server type? (windows, ubuntu, macosx, NAS, etc)
when return to menu the problem is that the wii can't access to the avi, for
example
a wifi disconnection.

I use USB 2.0 port.
It happens both with a FAT32 solid memory key, both with NTFS 2.5" USB HDD.
When I reselect the file, it starts playing with no problems, but from
the beginning (lost resume point).
This fact also happened with mplayer 0.75 bith on 3.2 menu and 4.1
menu. With 0.75 after stopped playing, I couldn't play any file
anymore, mplayer was not frozen, but any selected file simply doen't
start. I had to press home button to return to wii menu and than
restart mplayer ce. Resume point was lost.
Now with 0.76 I don't have to restart mplayer anymore. Also, now with
0.76 finally my old external HD drive works!
I Have tried both frame sckipping enabled or disabled but it always randomly
stop
playing. Yesterday it happened 4 times in an hour!
Thanks a lot for your hard work!

This stared to happen to me when I updated to 0.76.
Random stops. It usually happens when I play a file from my laptop (Mac OS X
10.5.8)
with WiFi, but it happened also when playing from USB hdd.

ver: mplayer-ce 0.76

This is happening to me all the time. Sometimes I can watch an hour, and
sometimes I
can watch only five minutes. Usually it just stops the movie, drops to menu,
and
looses resume. Next time on the same spot in the movie, it plays nicely, and
randomly stops some other time. :)
I'm using USB2.0, fully supported HDD (Iomega Prestige Desktop 1TB), FAT32.
What
I've been noticing is that about a couple of minutes before random stop, the
HDD
seems to spin down, and the access light no longer blinks as if though it
wouldn't
be reading anymore. Then the HDD seems to spin back up the moment I press A in
the
menu I was dropped to play the same file again. Some weird USB HDD sleep issue?

I got this issues with 0.76 using smb. I believe is a issues with buffering.
When I
look for small divx (under 400Meg) via wifi, it's ok. But, when I try to read
movie
(over 400 Meg), it will stop playing and going back to the menu. But, same fine
over
my SD (8Gb), it's working fine. May be will be good if mplayer can buffering
into
the SD card (1Gb..)
Thank

I have installed the new cIOS 202 222 223 224 by hermes v5.
I installed it leaving the default option but as IOS 202 instead of 222.

I can confirm that mplayer now works correctly!
I don't know if it's because of new hermes cios or only because I have
installed it
with the right cIOS.
If I remember correctly, I left the default settings in Hermes cios 202
installer
but selected cIOS 202 instead of 222. I think the default setting were in order
cIOS249, cIOS222>202, cIOS38 (someone suggest using 57) but i levae the
default).
Now mplayer doesn't stop playing anymore!

After installing the new Hermes v5 202, it seems that the usb-disconnection
problems
are now a thing of history. I tested with two video files and neither randomly
stopped. A reservated confirmation from my part, we'll see if the problems
resurface. :)
