The guys over at hackmii released a version of libocg that - so they say - will
enable access to DVD and USB 2.0 on every Wii without he hassle of installing a
patches cIOS [1].

Please make a version of the great mplayer-ce that works with libogc.

Yes, support for IOS58 will be added.
However, support for the cIOS will stay around and will have priority due to
disappointing performance of the interface in high bandwidth conditions at the
moment.

Could you please clarify on the meaning of "will have priority"? Will this just
be priority in developement or does it mean that, given both options,
mplayer-ce will prefer cIOS over IOS58?

Negative example for the latter: I think I got some botched version of cIOS to
run on my wii (nothing I'd like to keep messing with, so please don't consider
this a support request!) - mplayer-ce 0.77 tells me that it found cIOS 202 and
can now play DVD, however loading USB-Support (the EHCI-stuff fails). Thus, no
USB networking for me. I'm hoping that with the option of using IOS58 the
problems with cIOS would just go away. If mplayer-ce were to stick to cIOS
although IOS58 is available, there is little hope for that.
