Video goes black and won't return unless I reinstall Mplayer CE #784

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.After watching several movies the video cuts out. There doesn't seem to be
any cause that I can tell. It's never on the same movie.
After I close out of the program, even if I shut the Wii off and pull the power
cord, I cannot get the video back on Mplayer CE.
Video is fine on the Wii, but as soon as I load the player, video is black but
the program is running, If I go through the menus (using my own memory on what
the program should be displaying) by using the wiimote I can get a video to
play but no there is no picture, just sound.
The only way I can get the program to work is by deleting the Mplayer CE
directory and reinstalling it.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Play movies with video. I see a black screen, but hear sound.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

I am running the latest version of Mplayer CE (r636)
I have a softmod wii version 4.3u

I figured out the solution to my problem and thought I would post it in case
someone else had the same trouble. It still is occurring and I still don't
know the cause, but if you hook a nunchuk to your wiimote, you can move the
display around with the analog stick and the c button brings it back to center.
For some reason my display is moving off of the screen so it is no longer
visible, but if I connect a nunchuk and press the C button it fixes it. I'm
not sure what technology the wiimote and nunchuk use to communicate with the
wii, be it bluetooth, RF signal, or what, but I believe something in my home is
possibly broadcasting a signal that the wii is misinterpreting. If anyone else
has a theory on the cause, please post your thoughts

I too am having this exact issue. I have tried to recreate it to avail. The
nunchuk is used to adjust screen position and I never have the nunchuk plugged
into the Wiimote. Yet, randomly the screen is repositioned off-screen so that
only a black screen is visible. I like your theory on the Wii misinterpreting
signals. I am under the belief that bluetooth is the technology used for
communication between the Wiimote and the Wii. Maybe that is where the problem
lies?

This was very informative and accurate! It just happened to me or the first
time last night. I was ready to do my first uninstall when I decided to "surf"
and see if it was a common issue. Read this and, Presto! Thank you!
