I'm not sure what u16 limit is being exceeded in Anomaly, but I can think of two possibilities:
An in-engine game entity identifier limit. If it's that, you should ask the OpenXRay team about it, as it's not my area of expertise.
The object_collection.script pseudo-identifier limit, which in CS is used for only two things: (i) squad IDs, (ii) task IDs. If this limit is being exceeded in Anomaly, there is probably a leak somewhere in the mod's scripts. (Incidentally, there are a few task ID leaks in the vanilla CS task_manager.script. They are fixed in the SRP.) If this is the issue, you should message the Anomaly maintainers about it.
