EPIC: Personal Financial Planner

As a returning user I can maintain my personal profile so that I can personalise my experience and track the articles and actions I wish to pursue Create a User Profile Page to show user picture, details, bookmarked articles and personal actions

Assumptions:

Issue #29 is completed This user story will provide the basis for CRUD to the user, for their specific financial planner info.

Acceptance Criteria

User can view user profile including profile info, bookmarks, and personalised financial actions User can add/maintain a personal user profile User can see/maintain bookmarks for articles of interest User can see/maintain personal actions

06/11/23 Assigned to Sprint7 and moved from Backlog to ToDo. Updated description from Task to UserStory

07/11/23 10:40: Working on this last night and today. Finding the setup of new app very confusing, this is the first time I've tried to implement my own django code and its a constant trial-and-error. At this point:

• fp_personal/views.py has basic logic to retrieve a specific user profile. Need to extend the render fields to full user profile (including allauth user fields as well, because this includes name, email address eetc) DONE 07/11/23 b end of day
• my_planner.html needs to be constructed using BS5 with containers to resemble the wireframe screen areas, need to test displaying some of the retrieved data on this site. Have managed to display my_planner.html but its currently just a blank page. Hours done so far = 6-7
• End of day 07/11/23 my_planner.html is displaying fields from User, User Profile successfully, also added defensive code to prevent fallover where User is setup but UserProfile is not. Included approx age calculation given date of birth.
• Note that the my_planner.html is currently display-only, will need to change it to allow update of UserProfile info.
• 09/11/23 Added count of user's bookmarked articles, comments, likes to my_planner page
• 11/11/23 Added associated user actions to the my_planner page (screenshot below)... Task2 (ability to update data) still to be done
• 12/11/23 REVIEWED ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA: User can view user profile including profile info, bookmarks, and personalised financial actions YES (but can see bookmarks total, not individual bookmarks) User can add/maintain a personal user profile: CAN SEE, but not maintain User can see/maintain bookmarks for articles of interest: CAN SEE, but not maintain User can see/maintain personal actions YES

  Decided to split this user story as sigificant parts have been achieved (albeit with a user interface that needs work). Raised issue #34 to cover outstanding tasks. Closed issue #32 with notes detailing tasks achieved.

Probably 30 hours spent on this issue, a lot of misunderstanding and trial-and-error when trying to get the elements from data models to display on html pages.....
