Whitespace was used extensively for layout issues in the legacy content.
As new content is added, the legacy whitespace makes the alignments inconsistent.
By showing whitespace in Author mode the author can be aware of the cause of alignment issues, when they are due to whitespace.
The user-guide should have an annex of config changes. Include this, a link to linebreak , and the step for force format to be included for new file references.
