Users have expressed an interest in a R/W deployable instance of the data store.

This would meet these requirements

ability to extract copy of database, with (or without) the contents of the measurement tables
ability to load new measurement data while away from office, and use in analysis
ability to load new metadata entries while away from office, for organising new data
ability to merge new measurements/metadata back into master database
