The Liam Davies vs. Shabaz Masoud fight card starts at 8 p.m. local time. The main event fighters should make their way to the ring around 11 p.m., depending on how long the undercard fights last.
A three-time silver medalist as an amateur, Davies (16-0) has won European, British, and English gold at the bantamweight and super bantamweight levels. The 28-year-old from Telford has eight wins via knockout, winning three straight via the power punch.
Masoud (13-0) has fought all across the U.K., winning four fights via knockout. Training at Wellington Boxing Club, the Lancashire-born fighter is ready for another classic performance against Davies, who he has beaten twice at the amateur level.
However, Davies hopes to flip the script when they clash in Birmingham.
"We boxed last time in a social club as amateurs, to come here ten years or so on to do a main event on TNT is massive, not only for me but him, so I respect him for that," Davies told the Shropshire Star. "He wants to do me, and I want to do him. I'm sure after we'll shake hands and show respect, we've both come a long way and are both trying to provide for our family.
"You see a lot of talk in boxing, but after it's respect, the journey is hard and not always straight-forward, we're in a one per cent club not many can do it. I appreciate him, but this is my time, and I'm confident that I'll prove it."
