1 month ago I can confirm that smartscreen displays a warning when installing v0.2.1 (previous, unsigned version):
Submitted windows binary v0.2.2 (current, signed) for microsoft defender scan: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/submission/29d6d86b-4346-439c-838e-daaae51218ad. No issues were found. Also confirmed on windows 10, 11, edge & firefox browsers that smart-screen does not find any issues during download & installation of the new version.
When trying to download the client on Windows Microsoft Defender SmartScreen reports that it's probably malicious software. User has to confirm that it's not but it's still not good user experience. Check https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/operating-system-security/virus-and-threat-protection/microsoft-defender-smartscreen/, make a report as the owner of the file to https://feedback.smartscreen.microsoft.com/feedback.aspx.
