I mentioned your findings on tree vs shrub budburst across models (and chapters) and Jonathan had a good suggestion: check the phylogenetic signal on your residuals. If you find a really strong one, we could add it to the results AND discussion (important future direction). If not, we could just add it to the results.

@lizzieinvancouver I re-ran the plotting code for the models with z-scored trait values and they look totally different compared to the figures I got before: Screenshot 2023-12-11 at 4 40 26 PM

I wouldn't have expected z-scoring the values would produce such different species ranking. I am going to take a break from coding from a bit. Right now, I can't find any evidence to suggest this is a coding mistake.

@DeirdreLoughnan I think this makes sense ... once you z-score the intercept changes completely and everything is relative to the MEAN, which on quick glance looks like what you're seeing here.
