@lizzieinvancouver as per my email, I tried to generate the plot of height versus cue responses with the phylogeny.
I could not find a way of making the exact figure we discussed. But did try to hack something using the node number of species, which increase in value across the tree.
The resulting figure does appear to have some degree of trait-cue-phylo relationship, particularly for photoperiod.
I also played around with different tree visualizations, comparing a tree coloured by the cue response on the left and the trait on the right, but I don't think the message is as clear.
