yeah, need to finish few things before I'll check the lab again and fix it for 2402

Karl-WE commented 8 months ago

hope my PR helps you a bit. @jaromirk. Just a small change but there's lot to maintain so I thought I could help.

Theres more ill be pushing. Ill need to retest as i had some issues with get-addomain not working during prereq check (there was pending reboot and moduel was not imported even it was installed...

I also hit that issue "issues with get-addomain not working during prereq check " and have an open SR for that. As talked on slack. Is this issue caught? @jaromirk

jaromirk commented 7 months ago

I dunno. Last few deployments it worked. Did you apply windows update to system?

Karl-WE commented 7 months ago

No I avoided WU on the Azure Stack nodes in the last attempt (which still failed), as per support advise as this could break things with the deployment. especially when done through sconfig. I believe updates are still part of your deployment using the API method. Docs state you may not do updates beforehand. The reason is something goes wrong with WU and PSmodules.

I will try again with the new MSlab version and a fresh DC. If this is not working consider open a new PR but know all our time is limited and this is voluntary. Support advices me to skip MSlab and using nested VM without it and "regular DC". There is also a new YT series from Berhard Frank on Nested AzStack, but have not viewed it. hope he trusts in MSLab and not doing the manual work or own scripts.
