This is a vista+ issue only. The standard icon format/resolution has changed
since XP.

compatibility issues are being investigated

Note:

Very odd issue

1) The exe in explorer does not show the embedded icon
2) When running the Editra.exe directly from the program files directory the
taskbar will show the application icon, but when starting it from a shortcut it
will not...

I use Windows 7 and never see the correct icon in the taskbar or elsewhere.
Always a general program file icon.

Yes,

As mentioned above if you start the program from a Shortcut then you won't see
the icon. However if you go to C:\Program Files\Editra and run Editra.exe
directly then the icon displays (on my windows 7 machine anyway). Must need to
do something different when creating shortcuts for windows vista/7. Haven't
found any documentation about it yet though.

I have tried opening Editra as you mentioned by running C:\Program Files
(x86)\Editra\Editra.exe but when the program runs all the icons are generic
windows .exe file icons, not the Editra icon as expected. I am running on x64
but I think it was the same when I was using windows 7 beta x86.

Odd,

On mine (Windows 7 Starter)

If I navigate to the directory containing Editra.exe and double click on it
then the Editra icon is shown in the taskbar and everywhere else.

If I start the program from the shortcut on the desktop then the only time I
see the Editra icon is when in the Alt+Tab popup window.

Anyway, still under investigation

I also got this problem. (Windows 7 64Bit)

It can be fixed by setting the icon path of the Editra shortcut.

Successfully tested with the attached patch.
