I've currently set sphinx to 5 in the environment spec.

There's something that we're doing that breaks search. I don't think it's the pydata theme, I'm also getting a broken search on the numba celltree docs...

Regardless of the search bar, it is probably wise to pin to Sphinx 5 until this pydata-sphinx-theme issue is fixed.

This should be fixed in the v0.13 release
