As long as the terrain outside of the mountain isn't flat, I'm fine with this. Otherwise I'm gonna have a huge problem with this. A flat-world would make this look stupid.
Also, most of those things you have as mini-issues should be their own issues.
They're sizable enough in scope that they might require their own discussion, and would get lost in this issue.
I think this city should be based on Rome: http://i.imgur.com/qF6Z6dL.jpg
I agree woo
Lol I did not see this post and I just commented on this other problem with exactly this. This was my idea at first but you rejected it for you wanted the city halfway up. If this is the plan, I will start right away with a square and some blueprints.
No, we have to redraw the plans... see issue #12.
Everything that needs to be changed/destroyed in the God's world I have outlined/covered in red wool.
And questions for Jan:
Why would they have random bits of marble on top of their shingle roofing? Or hanging off of it? Why would they have decorative bits of stone IN their marble walls? Why are there random bits of marble protruding out of the walls? Why would they have fire on their balconies? Why are random arches in front of walls? Why are there "windows" filled with stone?
I've looked over what you've outlined in wool. Honestly Dickso, I think you're being too logical about it. If it looks good, roll with it. As myself and HQM have pointed out before, this is about first impressions, not accuracy to the time period. I'm not saying I disagree with all of your outlined areas, but in general—from my first impressions—you're being far too strict on the design. You also can't be sure that all of it is finished. It's likely still a WIP and will be extensively changed without intervention.
This is the first real and productive progress we've had. Jan is a proven builder and I know he is capable of making epic designs. Just loosen up a little and let the builders have fun with it, then we can adjust later. :)
Some of what I said does need to be changed, but yeah I get you.
Let them at least finish it first before you make judgement.

This.
Also, there should be upvotes on GitHub.
A small city at the base of the mountain with an open park-type area at its center that is connected to the pathway.
