Hotbar items should be saved on death. #122

We discussed this long ago and might as well implement it now. It will go right along with ability binding too. Binds will be forced into their hot bar as you suggested which will leave less room for other items. We could make the number of protected slots vary based on their stats or something... But that may get confusing to the player.

I think just the hotbar is enough. They already have enderchests.

I was never suggesting any more than just the hotbar?

The way your worded it made it confusing. "...will leave less room for other items. We could make the number of protected slots vary..."

Ah, that was badly worded. What I mean is it will play slightly into balancing because of the fact that any bind they have will be forced to stay in the hotbar and therefore leave less room for other items that they want to protect.

I say slightly because I still feel like that gives them too many slots to save their items. When people go to battle they'll likely just bring along a few weapons anyway. Much less than a hotbar full.

Hmm... what if we didn't just protect the hotbar? We could possibly create some sort of ability/command that they could use with a cost that would allow them to save specific items. Much like how in Runescape you can "safe" specific items that won't drop if you die when out pvping. I don't play Runescape and just know of this through Cole, but I believe you "pray" on that item and then it will remain safe when you die. Anyway, I have a few ideas regarding this actually, so we'll discuss tonight.

I like that idea, but you really should start your ideas down as issues so we can look back at them later.

Can do. Gonna close this in favor of the new method.
