The DC Theme's default font is "Adobe Caslon Pro" (a font which not everyone will have installed by default - I don't have it on any of my Linux or Windows installs). For users who don't have the primary font choice installed, the theme's first choice fallback font is currently Georgia. Georgia is a font that was designed for legibility on low-resolution screens: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_(typeface)
It is also has the property that numbers and letters are rendered with different heights, which looks odd when mixing numbers and letters (e.g: in a postcode):
I'd like to suggest that we do some mix of:
Move to a more common primary font choice
Package the default font choice as a webfont for more consistency across devices
Pick a secondary font which is more oriented towards display characteristics we desire (+1 for consistent character height from me) rather than compensating for the characteristics of 1990s display hardware.
