The idea follows the NPR model: we ask for a small amount per month, charged for the whole year. I really like the idea of just asking every one of the 89,000 municipalities in the US to contribute $1 each / month. People can select various cities maybe if they want to do more but it puts them on the CIty homepage as the 'sponsor'.

A few other things:

  1. Is "sponsor" the right word?
  2. Should be offer "Gold", "Silver", ... type badges based on the amount contributed?
  3. Should we maybe set a max contribution for this page? ... ?

I love the 25% payout idea. That's a cool way to incentivize and nudge cities to support rallies

1) let me chat with local councilmembers and ask what language is better and more likely for a city to be interested in... my intuition suggests that "Sponsor" may not be appealing to them, but maybe there is a word city people/staff tend to like

2) i would prefer staying away from hierarchical identifications... this tends to invite a supremacy mentality

3) i feel like we should get multiple feedback from various city councilmembers/staff (maybe we can all ask your local reps) on what the city would feel is a do-able amount monthly... my mentor said he would give his personal $100 a month to sponsor El Cerrito and he's on 3 different city committee's.

i also feel like maybe if a city signs up, the city receives a "blue certification (like twitter and IG and what not do)" letting the community know that they are truly engaged with the platform and DemocraSEE community

and we can allow citizens to also contribute (however much they want) and reward Citizen Coins to RALLY's/Values they care about

Shukria @mysticscientist ! Loves it. Can you flesh out the Blue Certifications idea on paper / screen?

In terms of

A. - Selecting Cities (how many allowed? what is they're already sponsored? ... B. - Recognition: where, how long does their credit appear? C. - Rewards: do they get any other special permissions around the site? (although this is a bit furtherr out on any timeline)

@polinatolkacheva , do you have any time to bring what i've put together so far into your design program ? Feel free to tweak any text as well, but i'm basically trying to capture that all money received goes 50-50 - (or more practically 60-40?) - between these two categories.
