Could you tell me which device you are using, which Android version it runs and which kind of SMS message it is. Does it come from an Email address or is it a normal short message?
Thank you for reporting the bug.
Different user, same situation. New SMS message comes in from email account, notification LED and icon are correct, and the swipedown preview of the message is correct, but when I click on it (to open the message) it brings me to the reply screen, to: field filled out and ready for me to reply to the message I've only seen the small preview of. Hope that makes sense. Droid - 2.01 Missed Call for Android - 2.0
Thanks for all your work on this. I (and definitely my employer) appreciate it very much!!
Thank you for your report.
Does this happen when SMS arrive from different sources except Email?
It appears that normal SMS from phone works as expected. Notification appears Click on preview *Sends me to message thread where I can view and reply
So it must just be from email. I just tested again from email to verify and got the same result. While I was at it I tested an MMS and got a completely different issue - notification sound was cut short, unknown: (text of mesage) appeared in the preview for about 1 second then disappeared. Could this app be interfering with the normal method of receiving mms?
Thank you for your report. I have to look into that again. The problem is that I'm not getting that much SMS from Emails so it is hard to test. I'm doing my best.
Not sure where you're located, but I'm in the US on Verizon and per the instructions on their website, I've been sending test msgs to my phone by emailing (my ph number)@vtext.com.
Yeah. I am located in Germany so I don't think it will help me. I am looking into the problem. :)
I hope that I got the problem fixed in the upcoming RC8 release for Android 2.x.
If I turn off notifications in the system SMS messaging app (as per Missed Call instructions), then I only get 1 entry in the notification list per text message -- so far, so good.
However, the notification message shows "unknown" to the left. And if I tap on the notification message, instead of going directly to the text it opens a new blank compose text message window.
If I turn notifications on in the system SMS messaging app, then I get 2 notifications per text. The system notification has the correct source/caller info. If I tap on that entry, it takes me directly to the text message/thread. Missed call's notifications should behave the same way.
