Detect the synaptics touchpad.

Sony Vaio FW11E with Windows Vista SP2

I believe the FW11E, like many Sony machines, has an Alps touchpad not a 
Synaptics 
one. Take a look at:

[Control Panel] -> [System] -> [Hardware] -> [Device Manager] -> [Mice and 
Other 
Pointing Devices] - it should specify the manufacturer of the touchpad.

It's a shame - I believe Synaptics touchpads offer far better features.
