Unhandled error when phone number goes beyond 18 digits

It is stated by the system in an error that phone number should not go past 18 digits. However, when I input a phone number past 18 digits (19 digits), systems allows it and does not detect it as an error

when testing with the input supplied by the report, we confirm that the reported behavior is reproduceable, will save without error, and does not throw an error if that specific 19 character phone number is entered. Therefore, while we accept that the accuracy of the 18 character warning message could be updated, we do not see this as a bug.

Reason for disagreement: I disagree with rejecting this bug. Downgrading the severity is agreeable here as it does not often affect user experience. However, the fact is this error is present in the app and should be considered as a bug since the user is able to go against the warning by the app.
