[v21] Speedrunner Seed 0 Seems Impossible #21

I got as far as upper Norfair today, collecting everything, but there is one room between the hub of Norfair and the bubble room that requires High Jump, Space Jump, the Ice Beam, Bombs, or Speed Booster to work. No tricks I know of work. I couldn't cross the gap to the Wrecked Ship where the Space Jump was since I had no Bombs.

It would seem impossible to finish this seed if not for a certain trick that you can do with Spring Ball that allows you to get a mid-air jump. You deactivate Spring Ball, jump straight up and mid-air morph and before you reach your max height you pause the game (you want the pause screen to appear just before you reach max height) and then reactivate Spring Ball and unpause and wait until the screen goes black, and when it does go black wait for a very brief period (like 15-20 frames or something) and then hold the jump button and if you did it right you'll get a mid-air jump that you can use to get up to the door. I recommend practicing with save states if you can.
