0.14.0 is quite old (over a year old at this point). Are you using the experimental installer from https://github.com/NixOS/experimental-nix-installer at the behest of devenv docs? That version has a bug where errors were being told to file them here instead of downstream in their issue tracker. If that's the case, you may want to submit this there instead: https://github.com/NixOS/experimental-nix-installer/issues/new
