Subject: Coosa Lodge Update from your Elangomat Chris!

Hello HAWK CLAN!

This is Christopher Arnold, your Elangomat from your September Ordeal at Camp Sequoyah.

Congratulations on becoming an Ordeal Member in Coosa Lodge! You all did a tremendous job completing a difficult task with little food in your bellies. I too completed this same task when I went through my Ordeal.

So what's next? I can assure you that you will never again have to go through an ordeal again. That phase is over with. All future events will include things such as fellowship, training, getting chances to experience once in a lifetime events, patches, getting involved with a ceremony team, a dance team, a drum team, or even Coosa Shows Staff. You can even run for lodge office or become a chapter officer. There are many different things you can do to keep you active AND PLENTY OF FOOD! But the important thing that will happen in future events is a lifetime of FUN!

Below is a list of the remaining Coosa Lodge /events for 2015. Come out and get involved in our Lodge.

October 2-4 2015 Ordeal Weekend Camp Jackson November 6-8 2015 Fall Fellowship Camp Comer November 21, 2015 Hawk Day Camp Westmoreland December 4-6 Coosa Lodge Leadership Retreat (By Invitation Only) TBD

I want you to all visit our Lodge's Website for more details regarding the event calendar, and news releases. Visit this website often as it contains important information to keep our Arrowmen updated.

Last but not least, I will share with you one of our lodge's past patches and share some interesting information about it. Each email I send will contain a new patch. Drumroll please.....

This Flap. known among collectors as S1 was our Lodges First Flap. It was Issued after our lodge's chartering on January 1, 2001. Our lodge merged Cherokee 50, Achunanchi 135 and Kaskanampo 310. This flap contains items from each of the merged lodges in its design. The Purple Letters "COOSA LODGE" and "WWW" pay tribute to Kaskanampo 310. The orange colors in the sun shield came from Achunanchi 135 and the Lodge number 50 in Red Letters pays homage to Cherokee 50. Also, the focus was to feature our lodge's new totem- the red shouldered hawk. For those of you interested in collecting Coosa Patches, this is an important one to obtain.

I will be emailing you updates throughout and i hope to see you all at our next event-

October 2-4 2015 Ordeal Weekend Camp Jackson

Yours in Brotherhood, Christopher Arnold WWW

Subject: Coosa Lodge UPCOMING EVENT Who's Going Hello Hawk Clan, Coosa Lodge is hosting another ordeal the weekend of October 2-4 at Camp Jackson. I WANT TO SEE EACH OF MY CLAN MEMBERS AT THIS ORDEAL "the one's who chose you need you..." Check the lodge website for more details regarding directions to Camp Jackson and other info regarding early regstration. Be prepared to bring with you the same items you brought with you during your ordeal. Currently the first article on the Lodge Home page has important information about the upcoming ordeal. http://coosa50.org/ When registering please consider being an elangomat for the new ordeal candidates for the weekend. It is a rewarding experience and a good way for each of you to get active in our lodge. If you choose to not be an elangomat, please look out for the Coosa Lodge Service Corps tent upon check-in and ask them for a capacity in which you can serve. For those of you willing to spend the weekend as an Elangomat with me; I want to draw your attention to the requirements for The Coosa Elangomat Award Program The Coosa Lodge Elangomat Award was established by the Lodge Executive Committee to encourage and recognize those who chose to serve as Elangomats. It also helps sustain Brotherhood conversion and has become an integral part of the Lodge’s inductions process.  The requirements form for the award is included as an attachment in this email and can be printed out for those wishing to earn it. Last but not least... Random patch of the week! This flap commemorated Coosa Lodge 50 hosting the 2000 SR-8B Conclave and was made available for purchase to those contributing service hours towards making camp ready for the coming OA Members in SR-8B. A conclave is a yearly event where all members from the included lodges come together at a Camp belonging to one of the lodges in the section for fellowship, native american games, Cermonies, Dancing, and Drumming Competitions, patch trading, and a weekend of fun and cheerful service. This was Coosa Lodge 50's first host of a conclave since our charter of January 1, 2000. A very collectible patch from our lodge's history! Coosa-Elangomat-Award-Program1.pdf
