camera fails to re-initialise after completing a level #2

After finishing a level with alternate camera and starting a different one, 9 and 0 correctly unlock the camera, but it fails to follow the rider and stays in a single spot unless i keep holding RMB.

Understand that keypad 9 is probably needed to update references but that doesn't seem to work for me. Also it would be great to mvoe those shortcuts from the numpad if possible

for me it works, you just have to press 9 again after loading the new level.
