Evaluate Raspberry Pi DAC for increasing sound volume #9

During testing of amplifier and speakers it was noted that the sound volume from the Raspberry Pi was quite low compared from using a laptop.

A possible solution would be to us a DAC HAT (Digital Analog Converter Hardware Attached on Top).

Some alternatives that are in Balena Audios list of supported DACs.

IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ - electrokit - 279 SEK

Test with different setting measures in a small room 1,5 meters away from speakers:

Test with IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ using 3.5 and RCA cable:

Using the DAC the sound level is much higher, even higher than when connected to the computer. There is a difference when using 3.5 mm cable and RCA, the former giving even more amplification on low volume.

Ordered one IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ from elektrokit for test.
