Dear colleagues,

Most of you would have read my earlier message that highlighted the various steps being taken by GBS India to support our colleagues and their families through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second wave of the pandemic has had a devastating impact on us and we are seeing an unprecedented surge in the number of critical cases within the GBS India amongst our colleagues and their families. We are doing everything that’s possible to support our colleagues in these difficult times and in this direction, GBS India has launched couple of new initiatives that include timely financial support during the pandemic phase. These are emergency and exceptional interventions which will be available up to October 2021 to help junior colleagues in the current crisis and will be in addition to the present COVID-19 benefits covering you and your immediate family.

• Financial reimbursement of expenses incurred towards COVID-19 related medical treatment for parents and parent-in laws of colleagues in Grade 6 and below

o Up to INR 250,000 per patient with ICU admission for COVID treatment o Up to INR 125,000 per patient with any other hospitalisation for COVID treatment. Click here to know more on this benefit.

• Interest Free Salary Advance of up to 6 months gross pay for Band 5 colleagues and below is being introduced as an interim measure to meet the expenses incurred on account of COVID-19 related medical emergencies. The total salary advance payable is capped at INR 10,00,000. Colleagues can avail an interest free advance with repayment over 30 months, following a 6 month moratorium period subject to perquisite tax as applicable. Click here to know more on this benefit.

• In the unfortunate case of a colleague passing away, his / her family will receive financial protection in the form of 4x of the Total Employment Cost (TEC minus Retirals) (with a salary cap of USD 1 mn). This insurance cover for ‘death in service’ benefit is for all colleagues with immediate effect.

While the crisis is far from over, please remember that you are not alone in this and GBS will put in all efforts to support you.

Stay safe and take good care of yourselves and your families.
