Would be very helpful to have a clone of live environment to roll out breaking changes to before we enter UAT
Oliver has set up a VM in Manchester
VM in Manchester for personal development, two NHM servers required: staging and live. Will request an additional NHM server.
Thanks to @benscott @llivermore, now myself and @OliverWoolland have three VMs:
sdr-poc-1
(live on https://sdr.nhm.ac.uk/) productionsdr-dev
(behind NHM firewall) testvm-rvmi-eps062
(behind UNIMAN firewall) devPlan is to test Ansible script (#56) first on the Manchester VM, then sdr-dev
. The script installs the SDR workflows as well making them accessible to registered users.
If this is fine on test (verifying workflow/tools), IMHO we should wipe/reinstall sdr-poc-1
to replace the current manual Galaxy install so that test and production match.
New tools can then be rolled out on dev followed by test using the Ansible scripts, and once stabilized deployed onto production using the same script.
The sdr-dev
has limited disk space (~ 17 GB free) but this can be increased if needed.
We now have all the servers we need to testing within the scope of the SYNTHESYS+ project. There is further work to do RE #87 but this falls into the work of #79
Clone specs of the existing VM.
Install Galaxy using Ansible?
