Yes, unfortunately this looks like an issue with Matplotlib which is the same as Issue #71 . Can you try rolling back to version 3.0.2 for now and let me know how it goes? I will look into fixing this

I fixed a similar issue through conda install matplotlib==2.0.2

Thanks for providing SuRVoS. I've installed it from source (git clone blah) and it successfully compiled. However, it fails when I try to specify a working directory with the following traceback:
I get the same error when I try to load a dataset.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
