Distilling gone wrong?

can someone help me please? I'm trying to make whiskey and rum, in the recipes it says to distil. but how long for? I distilled once and then put in the barrel. ruined potion. I left it in to be distilled the maximum time (6) popped that in the barrel, ruined potion. they go "musty distil" to "ruined potion" can someone please tell me what im doing wrong?

You're probably doing something wrong while brewing them, because the maximum amount of distills are determined for each recipe in the config, and for both whiskey and rum, the maximum amount is 2 (as in default condig). So if you're possible to distill them more than 2 times, then you've probably messed up the ingredients.
