The website seems to work but it won’t torrent anything

DiegoRBaquero commented 1 year ago

It will only work with webtorrent supported torrents, are you trying those?

GeneralQuestion commented 1 year ago

Oh, I didn’t know that it only supported torrents that support webtorrent. How can I check that?

How can I check that?

Depends on what you're trying to download. Check the tracker section of your .torrent file or magnet link. For example: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:.......%[...]%3A1337%2Fannounce&tr=wss%3A%2F%2Ftracker.btorrent.xyz&tr=wss%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openwebtorrent.com At the end of this magnet link, you can see my torrent client (WebTorrent Desktop) has automatically added two of the most popular webtorrent trackers, tracker.btorrent.xyz and tracker.openwebtorrent.com. This means that peers using WebTorrent can discover each other and exchange data, or in short, that the torrent supports WebTorrent. However, you still won't be able to download anything if there are no WebTorrent-enabled peers seeding the files because WebTorrent and BitTorrent use different transport layers, see this diagram: https://github.com/webtorrent/webtorrent#readme
